The forest healing center
The Forest Healing Center is a project in Southern Oregon to take a recently logged piece of land and restore it to pristine forest.
with the help of donors, volunteers and students we recreate a coherent ecostructure which will host groups of people helping to heal the forest and themselves.
The overall budget is $1.4 million to create the center and reforest the land. We are in the first phase of the project, raising $400,000 to acquire the land from the logging company.
The proposed site is a recently logged piece of forest land in Southern Oregon. There has been destruction due to logging.
We are currently funding
Phase One: Collecting donations from 1000 Initial Founders who wish to move the project forward by donating $400 each.
We are simultaneously forming a team, creating a business and obtaining 501c3 status. The priority is to secure the land. If you want to help contact Elisa firstname.lastname@example.org
Once the land is acquired, Phase Two will commence with clean up and strategy sessions for reforesting. This is a significant timeline. We are constantly seeking substantial donations throughout phases 1 and 2.
This project is funded by people and organizations. We also accept in in kind and skill share contributions.
In addition to forest rehabilitation, Phase 2 will include planning site upgrades such as water infrastructure, permaculture garden design, and updates to the exisiting center building.
Phase Two will be funded in part by applicable grants and donations and will be supported by student teacher groups and forest garden volunteers. As project partners, College of the Melissae School of Sacred Beekeeping oversee the beehive sanctuary and pollinator garden. As a collaborative project, we are seeking substantial donations of $20,000 and above in order to fund rehabilitation of logging damaged areas and initiate reforesting.
The Forest Healing Center is open to collaboration with other aligned groups and individuals.
The total projected budget for the project is 1.4 million. We're gonna raise it!
The Forest Healing Center was initiated by Elisa Fox after she witnessed the destruction of a logging site which was previously pristine forest.
The Phase One Founders Team consists of 1000 people and organizations who each donate $400 to the center. You can become one of the 1000 Founders supporting the project!
This center is a way for us to take responsibility for the earth and to give back by creating a place where we honor nature and people are able to connect with her. -Elisa Fox, Founder
